1引言
毕业论文是考察学生综合能力、评估学业成绩的一个重要方式。选题即选择和确定研究的范围和方向，只有确定了合适的研究方向，才能确定论文题目、取舍材料、确定论证方法以及篇章内容的组织安排。【1】
目前，针对英语专业学士学位论文选题方向的研究较少，翻译方向类学术论文更是稀缺，因此学生如何正确选题以提高论文质量及自身综合能力是本论文的研究意义即价值。
2选题情况数据分析
2.1英语专业本科生翻译论文选题分类及分析
从浙江财经大学英语专业2010-2013届毕业生毕业论文选题情况来看，在845名往届毕业生中，222名学生(26.27%)撰写了翻译方向的毕业论文。笔者对"2010-2013届毕业论文一览表"中翻译方向的论文进行了筛选，从分析数据中可见该方向的论文数大致呈递减趋势。
从被调查的翻译论文选题的分类(见表2.1)看，译文比较与分析、翻译理论与技巧以及实用文体翻译是主要选题方向，三者比例合占83.84%。译文比较与评价的论文大多数为汉英译文比较以及对英译本的评析，而实用翻译的论文最受学生青睐。从研究方向看，此类论文多是对经贸、影视、广告、旅游等非文学文体翻译的探讨;而翻译理论与技巧的选题从内容上看，多数是基于对习语、双关语、隐喻等翻译理论和技巧的探讨。
2.2翻译论文选题的问卷调查分析
为了帮助英语专业翻译方向的学生更好地进行论文选题，完成毕业论文"为应付毕业"向"为学术而作"的转变，书写一篇优秀的毕业论文，笔者就此进行了专项的问卷调查。
关于翻译论文选题动机，根据我们的调查结果得知个人兴趣及导师的研究方向能在极大程度上给予学生选题的动机和切入点，为其提供撰写思路。可利用材料丰富的题目也较为热门。
据调查显示，创新性(33%)、学术理论性(31%)和实际性(36%)所占比重接近，实际性以微弱的优势占据第一。由此可见，创新性的见解固然重要，但不可罔顾学术理论的有理有据，亦不可脱离现实性和实用性。
在是否考虑论文中将第二专业或其他领域的知识与本专业知识相结合的调查中，笔者发现结合二专业知识的同学与纯英语翻译知识撰写的同学成3：8的比例。且这三成中有两成是在校大四学生，顺利结合另一专业知识且获得毕业论文合格的往届生只有一成。
结合以上调查结果，笔者发现了以下三个方面的问题：
第一，选题"过小"。首先，论文大方向的选择领域过于狭窄，多集中在文学领域。其次，立意缺乏创新元素，论文立意不高，研究切入点狭小，不能以小见大。另外，论文分析的问题缺乏新意，对于学术研究的贡献有限。
第二，选题"过大"。具体表现在选题太过空泛，其研究成果绝不是一篇毕业论文的字数所能涵盖的。
第三，选题"过偏"。一部分毕业生的选题跨度太广，难以驾驭完成论文所需的多领域知识储备，导致最后出现偏离本专业学习的情况。
3.选题现象与问题分析
首先，对文学作品赏析的论文选题占了最大比例。这类选题主要分为三种情况：一、从文化视角分析人物命运;二、对不同作品间主人公命运的不同与相似处的比较;三、对作品修辞、写作手法等方面的研究。其次，从文化角度分析实用文体的翻译也较为热门。最后，翻译研究教学等学术要求较高的选题所占比例极小，而口译方向的论文数几乎为零。
笔者发现，毕业生对名著的赏析和实用文体翻译与语言现象的研究虽十分普遍，但真正有深刻思想、实践意义、推动价值的论文实属凤毛麟角。毕业生在赏析文学作品时多选名家名作，重复率极高，且缺乏足够的能力另辟蹊径，往往浅尝辄止。而在分析语言现象时又过多地摆事实，套模式，未能深入分析其背后的原因，行文堆砌，空洞无味。由此可见，英语专业本科毕业生在翻译论文选题中同样存在本科生论文选题普遍存在的"泛、大、陈、浅"及共选率偏高的通病。【2】
而此现象的出现，笔者认为有以下原因：
(1)有关翻译学科研究的理论、方法论和实践操作性的课程较少，学生在写作时缺乏理论依据指导，方法单一，造成译文比较与评价等选题的集中。【3】英语本科生的课程以听说读写四门基础课程为主，专业学术性课程过少，导致学生缺乏充分的理论基础，而理论如骨架，没有骨架支撑的文章往往杂乱无章、缺乏逻辑。
(2)学生自身阅读量不足，缺乏批判性思维和创新意识。大多数学生根据兴趣选题，而艰涩难懂的学术类课题往往不受欢迎。同时，学生偏爱参考资料较多的题目，互联网更是滋生了抄袭之风，过多的现成资料反限制了学生的独立思考能力。
(3)英语专业特殊的专业要求。英语专业毕业论文要求全英文撰写，使得不少学生在选题时只能选择易于撰写的题目。语言运用能力的不足严重阻碍了学生表达看法时的充分性和有效性。
4.建议
基于以上分析，笔者提出了以下建议以供参考。
(1) 以小见大，专注集中。
毕业论文篇幅有限，选题过大，学生往往泛泛而谈，纵观全文只是各类资料文献堆积，显得架屋叠床。选取一个点而非面切入，研究往往更能深入透彻。以本院2010届日语专业优秀论文《从牵牛花看日本人精神世界的一面》为例，专家评论道：作者以"牵牛花"引出了中日文学、文化交流史，乃至日本精神审美等重大话题，是典型的以小见大的研究方法。而针对选定的论点集中专注地进行论述，是保证研究全面、可信的必要条件。如《从男旦女形和舞台表现看京剧和歌舞伎之异同》，虽选题新颖却因有两个论述重点导致每一个论点都不够详实细致。因此，少论点、多论据是一个极其重要的原则。
(2)"各取所长"，扬长避短。
根据个人情况不同，学生可选择自己擅长的研究方向。分析往年《浙江省本科高校毕业论文抽查专家意见反馈》发现，涉足自身不擅长的领域或刻意图"生、偏、异"，易出现"个人见解不足"、"研究方法欠合理性"、"语法、措辞有误"等评语。因此笔者建议毕业生若无充分的把握，尽量避免生疏领域，防止事倍功半。
(3)视角创新，与时俱进。
笔者发现选题一栏高分多因"选题新颖"。乏善可陈的论文题目很难继续扩展并脱颖而出，而观点重复率低，学生便易出新的成果。"较强的时效性"也为论文选题增色不少，这就要求学生关注时事，广泛阅读，培养社会敏感度，在查阅参考文献时注意文献的年份，批判辩证地思考和选择，切忌生搬硬套陈腐过时的资料。
