“一切为了学生,为了学生一切,为了一切学生”这是对我们所进行的教育———素质教育的高度定位。它是面向全体学生的教育,它要求要使全体学生得到全面的发展。英语教育是素质教育的重要组成部分,而在英语教学中能否成功地开展英语学困生的转化教育活动,能否成功地教育和转化英语学困生,对体现英语教学中的素质教育精神具有重要意义。因此我们英语教育工作者必须努力地解决好“如何有效地转化英语学困生”这一难题,使他们得到最快的提高和最充分的发展。本人根据近15年从事英语教育的体会,就如何对英语学困生进行转化做以下一些探讨,不对之处敬请批评指正!

一、切合实际,科学分析,依据分层,对症下“药”

根据智力因素系统和非智力因素系统两者关系,我把英语学困生大致分为“高智商学困生”、“偏学科学困生”、“低智商学困生”三个层次。要有效的转化他们,必须确诊“病因”,然后对症下“药”。

对于高智商学困生,这类学生脑子灵,反应快,稍微懂了就不愿听,注意力很难集中,他们好胜心强,爱动、贪玩,学习无恒心、无毅力。我们要想办法把他们的精力聚到英语学习这个焦点上,可举行英语书法、单词默写等比赛来激起他们对英语学习的兴趣。

偏学科学困生中以女生为最多,她们爱面子,羞于发问,学习上死记硬背,灵活运用少。我们可通过观察、谈心,促使她们改进学习方法。让她们担任英语学习小组长,不断提高信心,以促进他们英语学习。

低智商学困生虽然比例最少,但他们大都认为自己样样不行,自卑心理沉重。我们可采取感情倾斜的方法,善于发现他们身上的闪光点,采取赏识教育法及时给予鼓励,增强他们自信心,敢于向困难挑战。

课堂教学仍是对学生进行素质教育的主阵地,在同一节课内要有面向全体的“合”的步骤,又有照顾各层次“分”的环节。根据美国教育家、心理学家布卢姆的教育分类理论,在知识、理解、分析、综合等各层次上都有相应题目。简单的问题有意识地先请学困生回答,给学困生多一点表现“自我”的空间以及获得表扬的机会,使他们尽量多地享受成功的快乐。心理学实验证明:一个人一旦体验成功的欢乐和欣慰,便会激起他无止境追求成功的勇气与力量。

二、寄予期望,增其信心,真情所至,金石为开。

希望能给人生活的信心与勇气。为学困生构造成功的因素,帮助学困生树立成功的信心非常重要。福斯特说过:“自信成功的人,已经成功了一半”。成功总是和信心联系在一起的。正如陶行知老先生说:“你的教鞭下有瓦特,你的冷眼中有牛顿,你的讥讽中有爱迪生。”心理学家发现:如果学生生活在敌视和讥讽中,他会好斗或捣蛋,如果学生生活在受欢迎的环境中,他会钟爱他人,积极向上。针对大多数学困生在心理上都有一定的压抑感、自卑感,不敢主动接近老师,但又希望得到教师的帮助的情况,我们一定要重视情感教育在教学中的特殊作用,突出学生的主体地位,以设身处地的立场去体会他们的心境与他们进行情感交流,诚恳相待,寄予期望,增其信心,鼓励他们学好英语,通过轻松活泼的语言,亲切的面容激发他们学习英语的自信心,让他们喜欢英语课,同时喜欢上自己的英语老师。古人云:“亲其师,信其道”。让学生觉得我们英语教师可

亲、可敬、可爱,是他们的真正良师益友,从而使他们对英语热情起来。根据罗森塔尔的“期望效应”理论,我们对学困生寄予信赖和期望,学生会在心理上产生一种积极向上,不负众望的回报效应。在英语教学过程中,多对学困生以鼓励、理解和肯定,你会收到意想不到的惊喜。智力与情感有着密切的关系,理智能帮助调节情感,良好的情感也能促进智慧的发挥。学生在学习英语过程中难免会遇到困难、失败,教师要善于通过常规的教学来观察学生的心理变化,努力从心理健康角度去调节学困生的学习心理,及时帮助他们克服学习中的困难,实现从失败到成功的跨越。

三、培养兴趣,增强动力,激起奋进,逐步提高

爱因斯坦说过:“兴趣是最好的老师,如果把学生的热情激发出来,那么学校所规定的功课就会被当作一种礼物来接受。”心理学认为:兴趣是学习动机中最活跃、最现实的成分之一。英语学困生除了学习习惯差外,往往对英语没有产生浓厚的兴趣,因此,兴趣的培养,对转化学困生尤其重要。

为了有效地激励学生的学习,必须从两方面努力,一是培养学生的学习需要和兴趣,二是给学生提供一定的诱因条件。英语是一门以语言为主要研究对象的学科,所有英语教育活动中最吸引学生、最易让学生产生兴趣的就是语言交流。因此只要学生有要求,就给他们提供交流的时间和场所,以鼓励学生不断探索,增强他们学习英语的“向心力”和“凝聚力”。课堂上举例时尽量选用贴近日常生活的事例,以缩短英语与日常生活的距离,使学生产生兴趣。完型填空,阅读理解多选些故事性、趣味性的题材。课堂教学多采用生动有趣的简笔画、幽默的英语故事、可以借助实物、图像、难忘的图片、动作、体态语等直观教学手段使课堂生“趣”,有些知识点尽可能用有趣的口诀来帮助他们记忆。比如:在名词复数的变法当中,其中一条是:以“f”或“fe”结尾的可数名词单数变复数把“f”或“fe”变成“ves”我是编一首小诗来帮助同学们记忆的,在此冒昧提出:贼(thief)让妻子(wife)去打狼(wolf),自己(-self)拿刀(knife)架(shelf)上躺,风吹树叶(leaf)落一半(half),一命(life)呜呼见阎王。再如把基数词变序数词,我用一句顺口溜来帮助他们掌握的:基变序,有规律,词尾加上th,一二三,特殊记,结尾字母t,d,d,八减t,九减e,f要把ve替,ty把y变为i,th前面有个e.记住了这个口诀,基数词变成序数词的问题就迎刃而解。

以此来诱导、激发学生学习英语的兴趣。实践证明,将那些注意力不稳定、习惯差的学生的兴趣激发到最佳状态,使之精力集中,以愉快的情绪自觉的投入有趣、有用的英语学习中去,必然会收到事半功倍的效果。

四、注重策略,养好习惯,运用方法,循序渐进

教育思想以人为本,“一切为了每位学生的发展”是新课程的最高宗旨和核心理念,意味着关注每一位学生,关注学生的情绪和情感体验,关注学生的道德

生活和人格的形成。因此,教师在课堂上要结合所教内容,尽量为学生营造宽松、愉悦、和谐的学习气氛,让学生感到英语课乐趣无穷。同时在教学中注重培养学生掌握运用学习策略、方法和技巧,使他们养成良好的学习习惯,从而提高学习效率。如:促使学困生掌握最基本的读书方法——五步读书法。即要求学困生采用“粗读——细读——质疑——精读——笔记”的五步程序进行阅读;促使学困生掌握“多感觉”记忆方法。培根曾说:“一切知识不过是记忆,而创造不过是运用记忆。”英语知识这一关过不好,其它的一切学习努力都是无效的。所以要多注重训练学生要做到口诵、心想、熟读、精思、手写等各种器官并用的“多感觉”记忆方法,从而达到最佳效果。同时要让学生养成大声朗读的习惯,边听课边记录的习惯,及时复习充分预习的习惯,从而使成绩快速提高。

五、定期交流,及时反馈,坚持面批,反复提升

为了持之以恒地有效地转化英语学困生,与他们定期交流显的非常必要。在交流中我们懂得他们的思想状况,在交流中我们懂得他们的英语学习进展情况,在交流中我们懂得他们在英语学习中遇到哪些困难以便及时解决,同时在交流中我们促进了彼此友谊的发展。许多实验研究结果表明:为了有效的促进学习,反馈应该是及时的、充分的。及时反馈给学生留下的印象最深,可以使学生及时地纠正学习中的错误,防止错误认识巩固下来,所以在批作业和试卷时做到及时、准确,特别对学困生作业坚持面批,效果更为显著。针对作业中所反映出的问题让他们进行反复的“还原”练习。要求他们再复习,进一步熟悉和理解所学内容之后再做作业。这种有的放矢的训练,使学困生的英语成绩会有明显提高。

六、家校配合,形成合力,积极引导,树好观念
